CHICAGO Translation and technical-writing firm Iverson Language Associates has acquired Wordnet, a document-translation company located outside of Boston.

Wordnet is a privately owned firm with sales of less than $1 million. Terms of the purchase were not disclosed.

The majority of Wordnet’s customer base is located on the East Coast, allowing Iverson Language Associates to increase its market share in that region, said president Steve Iverson. His firm, which is based in Milwaukee, also has offices in Portland, Ore.,
