Weird News Agency FlashNews Goes Under
For nearly 30 years they provided bizarre news material for Carson and Leno’s Tonight Shows, The Daily Show and David Letterman–but the San Diego-based news service FlashNews is shutting things down.

According to founder and managing editor Patrick Glynn, the wacky wire service is closing down for a number of reasons, including a depressed economy, a decrease in radio barter availabilities, slashed advertising budgets, a decline in terrestrial radio listening and dwindling newspaper subscriptions.
