Mike Nelson to oversee business in agencies’ effort to provide client with ‘single-point leadership’

As a native New Yorker who has spent the past 12 years in London and Paris, Mike Nelson admits that moving to Minneapolis will be an “adjustment” for him and his family.

“We don’t know anything about Minneapolis,” he said. “The adventure continues.”

Nelson, 45, has been named to oversee the global General Mills business that is jointly handled by CM in Minneapolis and McCann-Erickson WorldGroup.

As evp, global account director, he will work closely with McCann’s overseas creative director John Hurst, the former chief creative officer at CM who joined McCann in London last year to oversee worldwide creative for Minneapolis-based General Mills.
