LOS ANGELES Branding boutique Powell in New York is among four finalists competing for a Sundance Channel creative project, the client said.

Also vying for the business are Maxxcom’s Crispin Porter + Bogusky in Venice, Calif., and independent agencies JohnsonSheen in Portland, Ore., and Modernista! in Boston, sources said. Agency representatives either declined comment or could not be reached.

Advertising for the channel has been handled primarily in-house, said client representative Sarah Eaton.

Billings are $2-3 million, according to sources.
