USC Student Writer Disappointed By The Professionals
USC graduate student Wendy Carrillo attended a panel discussion at her campus a couple weeks back called Blacks and Latinos In Conflict and Cooperation: Writing Race in L.A. According to the USC website, the panel was intended to “explore urban conflict and coalition” and “use literature and journalism to look at the ever changing world around us.” According to Carrillo, the panel was a bunch of out-of-touch authors interested primarily in self-promotion.
