Cop Leverages Facebook to Talk Down Suicidal College Student
New York Daily News reporter Thomas Tracy has shared a gut-wrenching item . One that happily ends in a very different way than many of those horrifying accounts of Facebook bullying.
After an unidentified 18-year-old New Jersey college student posted a picture on Facebook of the George Washington Bridge and the status “I’m thinking of jumping,” the scary info was relayed by a Facebook friend to authorities. Here’s what miraculously happened next after Paterson, NJ law enforcement officials passed on the information to the Port Authority Police Department:
Lieutenant Thomas Michaels distributed a photo of the college student to his officers and also left a message on the teen’s Facebook page encouraging him to call him.
