ATLANTA The Martin Agency has resigned the Champion Mortgage account.

Billings for the home equity lender were estimated at $12 million for 2001 and $16 million for January-October 2002, per CMR.

As a result, the Interpublic Group agency has laid off 19 staffers; 14 at its Richmond, Va., headquarters and five in New York, about 6 percent of its workforce.
