Lauren Zalaznick's Eventful Week
Bravo TV President and NBC Universal Green Council Chair Lauren Zalaznick faced some ups and downs during this past week of the ”Green Initiative,” which heralded 150-hours of green themed content. What are the odds that the high-profile Writers Guild of America strike coincides with NBC’s Green Initiative? There were further disappointments as well. The Bravo Prexy spoke to Deborah Netburn of The Los Angeles Times:
”Al Gore was a scheduled guest on ‘The Tonight Show.’ That was a big disappointment,” Zalaznick said of the preempting of that night’s program.
”She was also saddened that a new ‘Saturday Night Live’ would not air this weekend, because a special green edition ‘Weekend Update’ segment had been planned.
”That was one of the toppers for me,” Zalaznick said. ”It was going to be really fun and a nice, neat, appropriate button to the week which launched seven days before. Those were two absolute losses.”’
On the positive side, Zalaznick scored two big victories in the past week that may offset the Green Initiative’s unexpected overshadowing. The Bravo TV President was named a Muse Award honoree. She will be honored by New York Women in Film & Television on Dec. 13 at the New York Hilton.
The second victory involves Bravo’s Project Runway. According to Multichannel:
The fourth season premiere of Bravo’s reality series Project Runway became the highest-rated season premiere ever in the network’s history in both adults 18 to 49 and total viewers, officials said Thursday.
Project Runway pulled 2.89 million viewers, jumping 20% from the season three premiere. In the adults 18 to 49 demographic, the program jumped 24% to 1.98 million viewers in the demo.
”Bravo was also the No. 1 cable network Wednesday night in the 10 p.m. slot in the adults 18 to 49 demo.
