NEW YORK — The Omnicom Group team of TBWA\Chiat\Day and Lyons Lavey Nickel Swift has landed ad duties on Bayer Corp.’s diabetes products account, the agency confirmed. Billings are estimated at $20 million.

TBWA\C\D in New York will handle consumer advertising, while Lyons Lavey in New York will create ads targeting doctors. In addition, TBWA’s Tequila unit will handle interactive duties and some direct marketing tasks, an agency representative said.

Other contenders for the business included Torre Lazur McCann Healthcare in New York; the team of Merkley Newman Harty & Partners and KPR, both in New York, and Gerbig, Snell/Weisheimer & Associates in Columbus, Ohio, said sources.
