WPP Group has established a North American presence for The Store, its retail consultancy unit. Gwen Morrison is heading the unit in the new position of president, North America.

Morrison will work out of WPP space in J. Walter Thompson’s offices here. She reports to Maureen Johnson, The Store’s CEO in London.

WPP established The Store in 1998 to study retail-shopping habits and provide reports to the company’s agencies and clients. The Store is a small unit, with a staff of five.
