Ex-GM Exec Guarascio Named Chair of AdSpace

Phil Guarascio, who exhibited a fascination with new media while the top marketing ex-ecutive at General Motors, has taken the chairman’s seat at AdSpace Networks.

The Burlingame, Calif., company, which also has offices in New York and Las Vegas, provides digital outdoor media through a technology called CoolSign. The posterlike video and sound displays are being spread in airports, theaters, shopping malls and stadiums.

Guarascio retired in May 2000 as vice president of advertising andcorporate marketing for GM.

“AdSpace is uniquely positioned to bring digital media to public spaces and to bring retail merchandising into the digital era while preserving brand identity,” Guarascio said in a statement.
