Hedge to Leave McCann, San FranciscoSAN FRANCISCO—Barrie Hedge, chairman of McCann-Erickson Worldwide here, will leave the Northern California office for a similar position at IPG in New York, an agency representative confirmed. The representative said Hedge planned to stay at the San Francisco office until a management team was in place for the $300-350 million Microsoft account. Hedge had worked at the office since last year. Also departing the agency is executive planning director Irina Kozhevnikoff-Heirakuji, who is returning to work as a consultant. Ankeney to Exit TBWA\C\D for CarmichaelCHICAGO—Carmichael Lynch is expected to name Shane Ankeney its media director, sources said. Ankeney, previously director of media strategy at TBWA\Chiat\Day in Playa del Rey, Calif., will replace Cheryl Jean Claude, who was in the position for just a year. The move will reunite him with former TBWA\C\D media planner Catrina McAuliffe, who joined CL as director of brand planning in July. CL officials declined to comment. DDB Seattle Selects Hunsdale as COOSAN FRANCISCO—DDB Seattle has named Sydney Hunsdale chief operating officer, a new position. Hunsdale, 48, will report to Ron Elgin, DDB Seattle president and CEO, and will serve as one of seven managing partners at the 185-person shop. Hunsdale has been with DDB Seattle (formerly Elgin Syferd) since 1983, working on accounts like McDonald's and Nordstrom. Lincoln Unveils First Blackwood WorkLOS ANGELES—Lincoln last week released its first TV spot for the Blackwood truck during the U.S. Open. Created by Young & Rubicam in Irvine, Calif., the "Solid Black" ad is the third in Lincoln's "Tennis the way it ought to be" campaign featuring John McEnroe. All three spots are running throughout the tournament on the CBS and USA Networks. The Blackwood spot shows players, fans, the net, the ball, the ice cream served by the vendor and the Blackwood all in black. AC/DC's hit "Back in Black" blasts while McEnroe, in black shades, says, "A hip player is a better player." Goodby Breaks Latest 'Got Milk?' AdsSAN FRANCISCO—Goodby, Silverstein & Partners this week breaks news ads for the California Milk Processor Board. The latest "Got Milk?" work includes three TV spots that continue on the subject of milk deprivation. The ads also plug Got Milk? merchandise available on the gotmilk.com Web site. Spending on the campaign was not released. Goodby is also said to be close to finishing its first campaign for Goodyear, sources said. Washington Lottery Extends Pact With PublicisLOS ANGELES—The Washington State Lottery has extended its contract with Publicis in the West through Dec. 31, 2002. It also expanded the Seattle shop's public relations duties. Publicis has handled the account since 1998. While the budget was undisclosed, the account was estimated at $5-6 million when it went into review last year [Adweek, Oct. 9, 2000]. The agency's first ad assignment under the new contract will launch in October.
