Computer-software firewall marketer Symantec’s estimated $25 million ad account is moving from one WPP Group shop to another.

The account and several account-side members of the Symantec team have shifted from Ogilvy & Mather here across town to J. Walter Thompson following what sources said was client dissatisfaction with creative. Ogilvy’s chairman and CEO in Los Angeles, Jerry McGee, is moving in to lead the account at JWT, according to sources.

In a meeting several weeks ago with the agency, the client “was very strident and to the point” about its unhappiness with the creative direction, said one source.
