When Paul Ven ables left Goodby, Silverstein & Partners to open his own shop in May, it appeared Goodby had lost an heir to its namesake founders. Then this summer, several senior creatives were lured away by McCann-Erickson and its Microsoft account.
Not long after Venables left, co-chairman Jeff Goodby was looking far from the Bay Area for a replacement, sources said. He started talking with Jamie Barrett, executive creative director at Fallon in New York.
