He reports to chief marketing officer and management director Jennifer Garr. MacLachlan joined the shop from CNBC in New York, where he served as director of marketing from December 1999 to June of this year. Before that, he was senior vice president, ac count director at BBDO New York, where he worked on General Electric, Gillette, Pepsi, Visa and the U.S. Navy, among others. Mac Lachlan started his advertising career as an account executive at the former Ammirati & Puris in New York, where he worked on BMW North America.Steven Tao was named senior vice president, programming and production at VH1 in New York. He formerly worked at New Line Television.Cybuy in New York hired two new executives. Michael Terretta was appointed chief technology officer; he previously worked as chief technology officer and chief vision officer at e-Media. Michael May joined as vice president, corporate strategy; he was formerly a research director and senior analyst at Jupiter Media Metrix.Peter Himler was elected president of The Publicity Club of New York. He is a managing director of the Corporate/Financial Practice, in charge of media relations at New York-based Burson-Marsteller.
