ALABAMA Steve Cummings has been designated national sales manager of Southern Living magazine, which is headquartered in Birmingham. Cummings will oversee the periodical's Atlanta, Dallas and Birmingham sales offices. FLORIDA In the wake of being named agency of record for The St. Petersburg Times, Hallmark/Tassone has made a series of new employee hires and personnel promotions. Production managers Sylvia Snyder and Barbi Cole, traffic manager Doug Pawling and administrative manager Kellie Swanwick have joined the advertising agency's Tampa office. In addition, Mary Eberhard has progressed to senior traffic manager, Sharon Linsky to account supervisor and Gretchen Covine to account manager. Rebecca Flora has joined the staff of Peak-Biety in Tampa as associate creative director. Meigs O'Conner Ricks in Fort Walton Beach had added Julie Dubuisson as media specialist. GEORGIA In Atlanta, T.G. Madison has appointed Jeffrey Abbott executive vice president and media director. The promotion of Tina Carlson to executive vice president has changed the name of the Gainesville agency now known as Morton Vardeman & Carlson. Carlson will remain creative director as well. Bob Lundsten has joined Atlanta's Championship Group as senior manager of new business development. Jennifer White has been elected vice president of Grizzard in Atlanta. Clyde R. Beaver III has advanced to the position of executive vice president and creative director at Kleber & Associates Advertising in Atlanta. Tempo (The Entertainment Marketing Promotion Organization) in Atlanta has added Jennifer Smith as director of new business development. MARYLAND Dennis Crosby has joined the creative staff of Crosby Marketing Communications in Annapolis as senior art director. Baltimore-based Eisner Communications has hired Brian Knowles as print production manager. New employees at MGH Advertising in Baltimore are senior public relations strategists Jacqueline Krieger and Stephani Renbaum, senior account executive Matthew Kurowski and copywriter Richard Frank. NORTH CAROLINA Rob Sergeant has moved up from senior art director to creative director at the Lyerly Agency. The Charlotte shop also hired Chris Harrington as technology services assistant. Linda Darnall has joined the staff of Coyne Beahm in Greensboro as creative director and managing editor. Greensboro-based Bouvier Kelly has assigned Lesley Thompson to the agency's media research, planning and negotiations operations. Daniel Smart has become manager of information systems and technology at Corder Philips & Wilson in Charlotte. SOUTH CAROLINA Erwin-Penland in Greenville has hired three new employees: Carlton Swift as studio artist, Matthew Ward as proofreader and Illana Fisher as receptionist. Jackson-Dawson Marketing Communications in Greenville recently promoted two staff members and hired a new employee. D. Scott Moore has been elevated to director of account services and Tate Hoxworth has been promoted to account executive. Dale Carver has joined the company as facilities manager. Waterfront Publishing, headquartered in Charleston, has appointed Bryan Walton IV Western and Midwestern sales manager for Golf Business magazine. TENNESSEE Dye Van Mol & Lawrence has made a pair of hires and five staff promotions. Nance Hatch and Michael Dukes have joined the Nashville company as senior account executive and associate creative director, respectively. Cathy Wayland and Jan Thompson have progressed to creative group directors. Juliette Phillipson, Meghan Stout and Lowry Berry have moved up to assistant account executive posts. Chandler, Ehrlich & Company in Memphis has promoted Michael Todd to senior art director and Reethika Singh to Web and graphic designer.
