NORTHERN CALIFORNIA Goldberg Moser O'Neill in San Francisco has made the following new hires: Tony Johnson, as art director; Donna Fuhrmann, as traffic manager; Ryan Sierra and Karey Green, as traffic coordinators; Amy Caplan, as a copywriter; and Max Gutierrez, as a broadcast assistant. The agency also promoted Windy Ferges to production assistant. OREGON Don Ramey joined Gerber in Portland as vice president. He comes from DW Green Marketing and Advertising in Tacoma, Wash. McKinney Johnson Marketing in Portland named Chris Byrd a senior art director. Jon Lee, principal of Jon Lee + Associates Technology Communications in Portland, is joining ID, Inc., a Portland corporate and brand identity company. Young & Roehr Group, Portland, hired Wendy Baumgarten as an account executive. She will work on the Freightliner Corp. account. SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA David Fulton joined Saatchi & Saatchi Los Angeles as an account executive in the interactive department. Belinda Sue joined the Torrance agency as an assistant media planner. Fraser/Huff in Santa Monica has made the following new hires: Adele Bouett, as controller; Nele Freedman, as public relations account coordinator; Susan Pare, as vice president/account director; and Rina Shapira, as new media director. The Rose/Glenn Group, based in Reno, Nev., named Julie Zirbel director for Southern California public relations. Zirbel is based in Laguna Niguel. Team One Advertising in El Segundo hired Jim Dearing as an associate creative director/art director and Victor Teresi as an account executive. The agency also promoted Jennifer Claxton, Christina Himberger and Jeanne Meyer to account supervisor; Sandra Flores, Tamera Poulter and Tony Wong to account executive; Michelle Zagozen to account coordinator; and Susanna Bennett to senior production manager. Sempra Energy in San Diego appointed Jerry D. Florence senior vice president of corporate communications. Kaufman and Broad Home Corp. promoted Jeffrey Charney to senior vice president for marketing and communications. He previously served as vice president of marketing and communications at the Los Angeles-based home builder. Bozell Worldwide promoted Michelle Purcell to director of account planning at its Costa Mesa office. She replaces Karl Lendenmann, who is leaving the agency business. Loy Baxter, vice chairman of PhaseOne, a Los Angeles-based advertising research firm, will serve as chairman of the newly formed PhaseOne Advisory Council. Karen Weiss was promoted to senior vice president of apparel for Warner Bros. licensing and Warner Bros. Studio Stores. She previously served as vice president, North American apparel sales, for the licensing division. Universal Pictures in Universal City appointed Adam Fogelson to the newly created position of vice president, creative advertising. Santa Monica-based GeoCities appointed Michael McConachie vice president of engineering. Jacob Weisbarth was promoted to president of King World Direct, the Los Angeles direct marketing subsidiary of King World Productions. Rogers & Cowan in Los Angeles named Sallie Olmsted executive vice president of its corporate and consumer marketing group, Shanwick Public Relations. Herb Schwartz was named president of Shadowrock Productions in Beverly Hills. Joseph Gerbino joined Bailey/Gardiner Creative Communications in San Diego as an assistant account executive in public relations. John C. McKeon joined the Los Angeles Times as senior vice president of advertising. He was previously senior vice president of advertising and chief innovation officer at Newsday. Seri McClendon joined Perceive in Long Beach as vice president of business development. McClendon is a former vice president and account supervisor at Think New Ideas in Los Angeles.
