SAO PAULO – Francal, a Sao Paulo shoe company, has agreed to pay an undisclosed sum to the family of Carmen Miranda, the late Brazilian movie actress who died in the 1950s. The shoemaker was contacted by lawyers on behalf of the Miranda family for using images of a wooden slipper filled with flowers and fruits, similar to the actress’ popular outfit, in their advertising.
