Bethesda, Md.-based WorldCell has split the $1-3 million advertising and public relations account for its international cellular phone service between McCann-Erickson here and sister agency Weber/Ryan McGinn in Arlington, Va.
“We’ve been hired to raise awareness of international cellular service–some people don’t even know it exists,” said Kathryn Courbe, a representative of Weber/Ryan Mc-Ginn, which will handle the public relations aspect of the business. “Our job is to position WorldCell as a leader in the industry.”
WorldCell operates under the corporate umbrella of International Mobile Communications (IMB).
“We’re excited by the integrated marketing approach presented by McCann-Erickson and Weber/Ryan McGinn,” said Jay Morris, who serves as vice president of sales and marketing for the client.
