GPC Buys McDermott/O’Neill
BOSTON–GPC International, a global public affairs and strategic consulting firm in Toronto owned by Omnicom Group, has made its first move into the U.S. market by acquiring McDermott/O’Neill & Associates. Terms of the deal were undisclosed. The public affairs specialist, which employs 53 and has offices in Boston, Providence, R.I., and Washington, D.C., has been renamed GPC/O’Neill & Associates. Agency principal Thomas O’Neill, named CEO of GPC’s U.S. operations, said he plans to build the firm’s Washington office and lead GPC/O’Neill’s expansion through organic growth and acquisitions.
