‘The infomercial is a wounded dinosaur,’ said creative director Bill Replogle. ‘We aren’t trying to sell anything; what you get from us you get free. You don’t have to pull out your credit card for three easy payments.’
The show, called The Good Night Show on the Cable Snooze Network is a series of skits featuring recognizable comedic actors from Second City and Not Necessarily the News doing skits on sleeplessness, interspersed by newsy segments on sleep. The show offers an 800-number insomniac registry that offers callers various sleep-related items and coupons for SmithKline products.
The show will run between 11 p.m. and 6 a.m. with a concentration in the wee hours.
