RIO DE JANEIRO – New restrictions on the importation of television commercials have been issued by the government here. The new regulation, Decree #974, requires that for a commercial to appear here, 50% of all filming, casting, music, directing and editing must be done in Brazil or by Brazilians. The new requirements are welcomed by production companies here, but agencies are balking.
