Amid Relocation Plans, Ritz Seeks ‘Sleeper’
ATLANTA–Though Marriott International announced plans to move The Ritz-Carlton Hotel Co. to the Washington, D.C., area, the Ritz-Carlton is on schedule with its agency search. Bethesda, Md.-based Marriott, which earlier this year became owner of the Ritz-Carlton, will not relocate the chain’s Atlanta offices to Tyson’s Corner, Va., until sometime next year, said Dan Collins, R-C corporate director of marketing. Since splitting with 12-year incumbent Tausche Henderson Drake [Adweek, May 11], Ritz-Carlton has heard from 50-plus agencies interested in pursuing the $5 million-plus global account.
