CHICAGO – Frito-Lay, Inc., based in Plano, Texas, is about to launch a new spot for its Fritos brand corn chips. The spot, created by DDB Needham Chicago, features country singer Mark Chestnut crooning a tune about how he doesn’t need fancy food like sushi or escargot to make a meal first-rate. The spot ends with the slogan, ‘I know what I like. I like Fritos corn chips.’
The campaign is the first major advertising effort against Fritos since the launch of nacho cheese-flavored Fritos in early 1991.
