Tom Ungar of the Ungar Group wanted to find a unique way to do his job and get some attention for his client, Newell/Rubbermaid, at this year’s National Hardware and Building Products Exposition in Chicago.

His plan was to erect a sort of living ad for a billboard just outside McCormick Place, where the show was held last week.

“We wanted a person up there, yelling out the booth number, Ungar said.

The owner of the restaurant below the billboard, Ungar said, squashed this idea and complained to City Hall.
