"Lowe Inks Kelley; Quish Expected Soon NEW YORK-Bruce Kelley has signed a contract to rejoin Lowe & Partners/SMS next month as a senior executive for North America, sources said. Rob Quish, a worldwide account director at Ammirati Puris Lintas, who is in negotiations to manage Lowe's New York office, is expected to sign a deal this week, sources said. The pair would replace Bob Kantor, the shop's former U.S. president, who left in December [Adweek, May 17]. Quish and the agency declined comment; Kelley could not be reached. "Oracle Narrows Search, Adds Global Duties LOS ANGELES-DDB, London, was added Friday as a late finalist in the review for Oracle Corp.'s global and U.S. account, estimated to be worth a combined $90 million. DDB is the incumbent on Oracle's global business. The other four finalists: Young & Rubicam, San Francisco; Leo Burnett, Chicago; Grey Advertising New York; and Bozell Worldwide, San Mateo, Calif. A decision is expected by mid-June. Incumbent on the U.S. ad account Think New Ideas, Los Angeles, declined to participate. Earlier last week, executives with the Redwood Shores, Calif.-based client confirmed that the scope of the search had expanded to include global ad duties, but that DDB was not involved [see ShopTalk, page 12]. "Merkley Newman Harty Gets Fit With Keds BOSTON-Stride-Rite Corp.'s Keds division has chosen Merkley Newman Harty in New York to handle its $10 million advertising account, the client said. Keds split with Foote, Cone & Belding in San Francisco a month ago and initiated a review. The Lexington, Mass., client found few qualified contenders owing to potential roster conflicts, and named MNH several weeks before a decision was expected. "Chemistry was key," said agency president Parry Merkley. "Sometimes is just feels right at both ends of the table." "Freeman Is Grand at Clios NEW YORK-Cliff Freeman and Partners took top honors at the 40th annual Clio Awards ceremony in New York last week, winning 18 prizes, including the Grand Clio in television and the Agency of the Year award. Campaigns for Outpost.com, Fox Sports and Hollywood Video earned most of the agency's 12 golds, two silvers and two bronzes. The shop was also awarded a Hall of Fame statue for Little Caesars' "Focus Group" spot. Goodby, Silverstein & Partners in San Francisco garnered 14 awards, including the Grand Clio in radio for Budweiser's "Louie the Lizard" campaign. Goodby won a total of seven golds, two silvers and four bronzes, largely for its Bud work [see related coverage, page 26]. "Account Activity ART.Com, Lake Forest, Ill., has contacted eight shops nationwide about a $5 million account that could hit $20 million next year.
