TikTok will roll out a tool in the coming weeks that lets people control how much time they spend on the video-creation application in a single session and enables regular screen time breaks.

In-app prompts will remind users to take a break after a certain amount of uninterrupted screen time that they can choose.

The new feature will join TikTok’s existing daily screen time management option.

The app is also introducing a new screen time dashboard to provide data on how much time people are spending on TikTok, including daily time spent, number of times they opened the app and a breakdown of daytime and nighttime usage.
