Personalized messaging platform Cameo is setting up shop in the Land of the Rising Sun.

Cameo kicked off a commercial partnership with SoftBank to expand into Japan, increase and diversify its talent pool, roll out its platform in the country and become more locally and culturally fluent.

SoftBank Vision Fund 2 is an investor in Cameo.

Cameo said it plans to appoint a local manager in Japan, adding that the country is its largest market in Asia in terms of fan orders, with actor and musician Kevin Woo, its most popular talent in Japan, having fulfilled more than 500 Cameos to date.
