Head of Instagram Adam Mosseri promised last December to bring back the chronological feed, and the Meta-owned photo- and video-sharing platform made good on that promise Wednesday, giving its users three feed options.

The Home option will give users the algorithmically sorted feed that Instagram introduced in 2016.

Following will enable Instagrammers to return to the chronological stream of posts from accounts they follow, which had been the default prior to the 2016 change.

And Favorites enables users to designate a list of accounts to see content from.
