U.K. Police Won't Force 'Guardian' to Reveal Sources
Scotland Yard had wanted sources for hacking stories named
London police are no longer planning to force the Guardian to reveal its sources for some of its reporting on the News of the World hacking scandal, the AP reports.
Last Friday, the Guardian said that Scotland Yard was seeking a court order that would make use of an “obscure” clause in the Official Secrets Act to make journalists from the newspaper reveal their confidential sources, claiming that the reporters’ involvement had impeded police investigations into the hacking allegations.
