Facebook marked World Immunization Week (April 24 through 30) by detailing the results of its efforts with UNICEF to combat vaccine hesitancy.
Public policy research manager, Data for Good Kadeem Khan and public policy manager, Data for Good Laura McGorman said in a Newsroom post that the World Health Organization found in 2019 that vaccine hesitancy was one of the top 10 threats to global health.
As part of the social network’s Insights for Impact program, it teamed up with UNICEF to analyze engagement with digital campaigns about vaccines in six countries with a total population of over 2 billion—Brazil, India, Kenya, Nigeria, Pakistan and Ukraine—over the past nine months.
The two parties tested the effectiveness of different content, messages and messengers of vaccine information that it put in front of more than 102 million people, and they said the most successful strategy varied from region to region, with Khan and McGorman writing,...
