Nearly 70% of global respondents to the most recent Value of the Internet Survey believe the increased internet usage brought on by the pandemic represented a “new normal” that will continue indefinitely, while just 3% said no aspects of their lives had seen dramatic online shifts.

Facebook and the Economist Intelligence Unit released the fifth edition of the Inclusive Internet Index Tuesday, providing data on 120 countries’ internet affordability, availability, readiness of people to use it and relevance, representing 96% of the world’s population and 98% of global gross domestic product.
