The Metro light rail in Phoenix Monday (Jan. 26) debuted the first-ever advertising on its system. To promote the National Basketball Association All-Star game Feb. 15 at U.S. Airways Center, the NBA wrapped two trains on the new mass transit system with images of six 2009 NBA All-Stars.

Prior to the NBA campaign, which will run through Feb.16, the Phoenix Metro had a “no advertising policy.” The Metro voted to allow the NBA to wrap the trains as a pilot project.
