NEW YORK Footwear and clothing company Timberland said it has named Jim Davey vp, global marketing, effective immediately.

He takes over for Carol Yang, who remains with the Stratham, N.H., company through October to oversee the transition.

Davey will report to Mike Harrison, who is Timberland’s chief brand officer. Harrison praised Davey’s creativity and marketing expertise as key factors precipitating his hire.

Prior to joining Timberland, Davey spent eight years at Nickelodeon and Viacom Consumer Products, most recently as svp, global marketing, planning and retail development.
