They’ve posted an interview with Michael Deane (shown here with Paul Newman), executive producer of Modern Times Film Co., who has spent plenty of time bringing Japan and Hollywood together for commercials. “The Japanese, who are essentially a tribe of 140 million people on an island smaller than the state of California, are always struggling to overcome ‘sameness’ and therefore actually like to try new things,” Deane says.
