We’ve all heard that consumer ads pitching prescription drugs are growing more subtle, but anyone who has seen the new spot for Lunesta may wonder if the subtlety sometimes goes too far. Allegedly—and I’m paraphrasing from the commercial here—it’s the new drug that everyone is talking about. Except I, for one, had never heard of it until I saw the ad last night. Thus (and only a blogger such as I would expend the energy) I had to piece together what the drug is from the visual cues, which include a luna moth drifting through the night. Is inserting the words sleep medication somewhere in the copy too forward?
