Talk about mud flaps

When you think of breakthroughs in advertising media, you don’t think of Wyoming. Then again, you don’t think of mud flaps.
A Jackson man has created FlapMedia—a company that sells ad space on truck mud flaps. ”There’s not a lot you can do when you’re driving,” Jeff Heilbrun tells Montana’s Billings Gazette, “except look at everything around you.”
He’s got a point. Plus, when your ad helps people not get splattered with mud, that’s gotta engender some good will. (Of course, your ad will soon be caked in the stuff, but oh well.) Truck owners seem happy, too. “It provides a service to us where we have to buy mud flaps regardless,” said Rob Goats (his real name) of Central Refrigerated Service. “If someone wants to put their message on there, it’s a win-win for us.”
