Samsung’s Sweet and Diverse Holiday Ad Features the World’s Most Deserving Doorman

adam&eveDDB packs four holidays into one

The ultimate do-gooders of the world rarely seek praise for the positive acts they perform, making them all the more worthy of it.

To shed light on them this holiday season, Samsung and Omnicom-owned London agency adam&eveDDB give thanks to these dedicated givers in a heartwarming spot that’s sure to tug at a few heartstrings.

In the 60-second ad, released today, a diligent doorman in an apartment complex is seen working around the clock, to the tune of Ella Fitzgerald’s “Give a Little, Get a Little,” to ensure all of his tenants are happy for whatever holiday they are preparing to celebrate–Diwali, Hanukkah, Christmas or the Chinese New Year.

The dutiful concierge always goes the extra mile for his tenants without expecting anything in return, aside from perhaps a simple thank you. Well, this year, one little boy takes notice of his hard work, plus something else.

It seems the employee, while spending so much time catering to others, has neglected to take care of his own needs–i.e., updating his very outdated phone. In an ending that will give you the seasonal feels, the doorman’s tenants come together to give him something he will truly appreciate–a Samsung Galaxy Note8.

“The spirit of generosity is something that unites us all, especially during the holiday season,” said Noah Bernard, European creative director at Samsung. “Our integrated campaign celebrates this universal truth and shows no matter where you are from in the world, the act of giving at this time of year is something we can relate to.”

Samsung and adam&eveDDB began running the campaign globally across all channels today. The media, handled by Starcom, will be built around the aforementioned holidays depicted in the ad.

Samsung first started working with adam&eveDDB a year ago when it gave a large portion of its North American creative account to the London agency. The shop then opened a New York office to support its new client.
