Of all the myriad tie-ins to the new web-slinger flick, I have to say my hands-down favorite is this PDF file: the Spider-Man 3 Bible Study Guide. Now sure, I could poke fun. But in truth, it’s actually a well-written, brimstone-free tool to get teens thinking about the movie’s moral lessons. It was written by Fuller Theological Seminary’s Craig Detweiler, who’s also a screenwriter. He impressively avoids the cringe-inducing tone that often plagues adults trying to connect with young people.
