The Kindle ice queen is gone, replaced by friendlier types in the Amazon e-reader's first two holiday spots. In the first one, a woman settles on a Kindle as the perfect gift for her grandson, who's interested in literally everything. A second spot, after the jump, shows wordless vignettes of the Kindle fitting into the routines of everyday life. Apparently, it's both dog- and Cheerios-proof. As much as Amazon likes to sneer at the iPad and its horrible outdoors-averse screen, the second spot is pretty Apple-esque.
