So apparently you don’t have to be a Super Bowl (or World Series or Olympic) champion to get a chance to utter the phrase, “I’m going to Disneyland!”
As part of its ongoing assault on our senses to promote the 50th anniversary of its parks, Disney last night gave every attendee at the Orange Bowl (sponsored by FedEx) a ticket to one of the company’s 11 parks around the world. All the people had to do was say the line in unison during the third quarter for a TV commercial. (For those who want to know more about the line, here’s some unofficial—albeit dated—history.)
To redeem the free pass, attendees will have to take their original ticket to a theme park between May 5 and Sept. 30, 2006. This requirement is likely to upset most Sooners fans, who probably want to shred their tickets after the 55-19 drubbing at the hands of USC.
