American Spirit Cigarette Ads Ripped for Eco-Friendly Claim

Anti-cigarette activists are up in arms about American Spirit cigarette ads that claim the brand is eco-friendly. The ads call the products "organic" because the manufacturing process uses hybrid vehicles and renewable energy. The Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids thinks American Spirit is "trying to greenwash a deadly and addictive product," but that hasn't stopped the ad from appearing in Field & Stream, Wired, Mother Jones, Elle and Marie Claire.
