Marketers are always hunting for the Big Idea. Just look at Adweek’s picks for the 10 Best Ads of 2017. They included “Breaking2” and “Fearless Girl,” two campaigns that looked beyond traditional advertising to find brilliant ways to connect with consumers in culture.

180LA’s Eduardo Marques picked three similarly ambitious campaigns when Adweek asked him recently to pick his favorite campaigns of all time for our “Best Ads Ever” series.

Marques, who recently took over leadership of 180LA’s creative department, chose Red Bull Stratos, Tourism Queensland’s “Best Job in the World” and Gatorade “Replay.” Those three campaigns, each in their own way, embedded themselves in culture—becoming talked about well beyond the normal scope of an advertising campaign.

Check out the video above to hear Marques’ thoughts on each one. See the videos below for more on those three breakthrough campaigns. And for more on classic campaign, check out our complete “Best Ads Ever” video series.
