Vaseline's NYC Lotion Swap Bets on Quality Over Skincare Trends

The brand is inviting consumers to trade in trendy moisturizers that lack hydration for Vaseline’s newest scented lotions

Vaseline is offering a second chance to anyone who has been let down by their moisturizer with an official lotion trade-in event in New York City this weekend.

On Saturday, Nov. 7, the Unilever brand will host a pop-up at Flatiron Plaza where consumers can swap their unsatisfactory lotions for Vaseline’s newest lotion scents: Cherry Aura and Vanilla Comfort.

At a time when the skincare aisle is saturated with newcomers, Valesine wants to remind shoppers that it offers “sensory with substance,” Kate Godbout, head of Vaseline North America, told ADWEEK in an exclusive interview.

The event was inspired by consumer frustrations with “trendy” lotions that promise fun fragrances but do not deliver on hydration, Godbout said.
