NEW YORK Taxi’s office here has hired John Berg as president and James Fox as planning director. Both posts are new at the independent shop.

Berg will work closely with Paul Lavoie, Taxi’s chairman and chief creative officer, who leads the Toronto-based agency and orchestrated its U.S. entry in late 2004.

Berg, 43, comes to Taxi from Bulldog in New York, a communications company that he helped start two years ago. Prior to that, Berg served as New York president of Euro RSCG.
