Americans who live in California, Washington, Florida and Hawaii appreciate Hershey’s Cookies ‘n’ Creme candy bar. Georgians revel in Twizzlers Strawberry Lemonade Filled Twists. Vermonters fancy Airheads White Mystery.

Influenster analyzed the most-reviewed candies—from Reese’s Pieces in Alaska to Brach’s Candy Corn in Oklahoma—on its platform ahead of Halloween, breaking down the data state by state and accounting for the population of each state, to determine the favorite by rating on a scale of 1 to 5.

According to Influenster, chocolate consumption is decreasing as healthier alternatives increasingly emerge. Meanwhile, 80% of the 10 most-reviewed candy products were not chocolate. Chewy candy was the fastest growing—new launches increased by 84% from 2013 to 2018—in the non-chocolate category.

“Our members who love gummy candy tell us it’s because of the texture, taste and fun flavors; an element of childhood nostalgia,” said Elizabeth Scherle, president and co-founder of Influenster. “Our community is largely millennial, with our Gen Z population growing, and we know these shoppers value experience and experimentation … and are certainly reliving the ’90s in more than just their fashion choices.”

In the past 12 months, the most-reviewed candy is Haribo Gold Bears gummy candy. It was also among the most-reviewed in the past 90 days, followed by Sour Patch Kids. According to Influenster, the Bears and the Kids are both newcomers to the top 10. Last year, Ferrero Rocher hazelnut chocolates were the most-reviewed candy.
