Independence USA PAC, the political action committee launched by former New York City mayor Michael Bloomberg, commissioned independent agency Droga5 to work on its efforts to elect Democrats around the country in this year’s midterm elections.

Individuals with direct knowledge of the matter confirmed that the billionaire philanthropist reached out to the agency to produce ads for what has become a highly publicized campaign.

A Droga5 spokesperson declined to comment and referred Adweek to Independence USA PAC.
