For those out there who won’t be McSilenced comes a new documentary, McLibel, about two English activists taking on McDonald’s. The story is about a 10-year court battle between McDonald’s and the Greenpeace activists, whom the fast-feeder sued for libel after they passed out pamphlets saying Mickey D’s “promotes unhealthy food, pollutes the environment, exploits workers, markets aggressively to children, and commits cruelty to animals.” The film is billed as “the story of two ordinary people who humiliated McDonald’s in the biggest corporate PR disaster in history.” Plus, they have a creepy clown mascot! If that sounds like your bag, the movie opens today in San Francisco.
