The Goodyear blimp is a mighty majestic billboard when soaring high over sports stadia. Less so when it’s crashing amid thunder and lightning into a South Florida industrial park. Fortunately no one was hurt in yesterday’s crash, but it’s got to make you wonder about the cost/benefit analysis of high-flying promotions. Consider the Norwegian jeans company that apparently hired a guy to film himself parachuting off the Eiffel Tower. Oops. Chute gets stuck, guy dies, shoot canceled, few jeans sold.
