Instagram quietly removed two of its stand-alone applications from the Apple App Store and Google Play: time-lapse video creation app Hyperlapse (iOS only), which debuted in 2014, and looping video creation app Boomerang, released the following year.

Hyperlapse and Boomerang were actually pulled off both app stories March 1, but the news of their demise comes just days after Instagram revealed the shutdown of another stand-alone app, long-form video creation app IGTV.

Layout a stand-alone Instagram app that enables users to add multiple images to a single post, debuted in 2015 and is still available via both app stores.

A spokesperson for parent company Meta said support for Hyperlapse and Boomerang was discontinued so that the company could better focus on the main Instagram app, adding that Boomerang is still supported on the flagship app in Stories.
